I made and fited this balcony. Top frame 2x1 box and 4" flat bar, the legs are 4" box all galvanised, the hand rail is galved and powder coated with stainless chanell for the toughend glass.
The floor is standard deck boards and we clad the underside with black pvc facia and sofit . You can see the stages of installation.
I made this stairs in my own house as you can see it has a double sweep, made that way so we could tuck it in behind the door downstairs have enough clearance up stairs for the roof as its a dormer bungalow.
The spine is made from 2mill m.s. 150 mill deep divided by 2, 16 mill round bars as shown here.
Ply wood was pop riveted to the 2mill steel and the finished veneer was glued to the ply.
The spine supports the steps but they are balanced by suspending them from the hand rail wich has 50 mil flat bar hidden under the timber. Some simple gates, nothing special here but measuring of gates has to be accurate for locks to work properly etc.
